In 2020, POSCO E&C was selected as the contractor for the expansion and modernization of the Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Plant (ZUSOK) in Warsaw’s Targowek as a result of a tender organized by the Municipal Cleaning Enterprise in the Capital City of Warsaw (MPO).
The task of POSCO E&C is “detailed design, reconstruction of the Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Plant in Warsaw according to a previously prepared Construction Design – general construction works, delivery and installation of devices, including commissioning of the technological part”.
The project is implemented in accordance with the BAT standard – Best Available Technology. As a result, a modern installation for the recovery of raw materials and energy from waste will be created. It will use grate combustion technology, used in most installations of this type in Europe. Operating 24 hours a day, the facility will transform over 300,000 tons of waste into energy per year and recover of raw materials from segregated waste.
The Completion is planned for 2024. The value of the project is nearly PLN 1.67 billion net.

Cracow
In 2016, POSCO E&C successfully completed the construction of the Thermal Waste Treatment Plant (TWTP) in Krakow. The total cost of the investment was approximately 647 million PLN Netto and was implemented in the “design and build” formula. The construction works took 42 months (from Contract to Completion date)
